In addition to anorexia and bulimia, Costin also describes binge eating, EDNOS, and exercise addiction with one chapter devoted solely to men. She explains how food problems are adaptive functions and discusses the influence of heredity. Much of the book addresses various types of therapy.

    Individuals entering recovery and their families will find many of their questions answered about the treatment team, with chapters on nutrition, the psychiatrist's role, medical management, and what to do when outpatient treatment is not enough. Includes descriptions of 20 facilities that specialize in treating eating disorders. Very good!
